The former Chelsea star might have just the answer to Christian Pulisic's poor run of form.  Former Chelsea striker, Olivier Giroud believes Christian Pulisic would play better with a target man on his side.  The current Chelsea number 10 has been on a poor run of form, and has been linked with a move away from Chelsea during the summer transfer window because of the lack of playing time that he is seeing so far in the Premier League campaign. Through the first five games of the season, the 23-year-old has only played a total of 96 minutes and he is not happy with his new role coming off the bench. The American wanted to switch teams this summer because he wanted to arrive in peak form with the USMNT for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Unfortunately, Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly, declined all the offers that were on the table, crushing Pulisic’s wish to move, leaving the player frustrated. According to The Athletic, Christian Pulisic is “disappointed” with the Premier ...

Romeo Lavia equalised in the 28th minute with his first goal for Southampton, curling home from the edge of the area after Chelsea failed to clear a corner. Adam Armstrong put Southampton ahead on the stroke of half-time as he took Romain Perraud’s pass and drilled a deflected shot past Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy. Chelsea, beaten 3-0 at Leeds in...

The Blues are in the process of trying to end the summer transfer window with a bang and new owner and interim Sporting Director, Todd Boehly has been tasked with backing manager Thomas Tuchel with signings that will propel the west Londoners into the title conversation. After a start to the season that has garnered a total of four points so far from nine available, Chelsea's woes have been a mixture of midfield instability, attacking bluntness, defensive frailties and poor mentality, as demonstrated most recently at Elland Road over the weekend. Once the Blues go a goal down, Tuchel's side over recent times have never been able to fight their way back into things. "We may need to take the penalties away!" — Tuchel admits he may have to stop Jorginho from taking Chelsea's penalties; names new penalty taker.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has hinted that he could take Jorginho off penalty duty in a bid to help the Blues’ misfiring forwards. The Italian has assumed the role as the West London club’s prime penalty taker since his £50m move from Serie A giants Napoli. His trademark technique has been widely successful with 15 converted spot-kicks to his name since 2020, whilst he has missed just four in a Blues shirt. Jorginho has already been successful from the penalty spot this season by netting the winner against struggling Everton on the opening weekend of the campaign at Goodison Park. Despite that highly impressive record, Tuchel has suggested that he may be forced to give penalty duties to someone else in an effort to improve the fortunes of Chelsea ’s stuttering frontline. The Chelsea boss had said: “ Maybe we need to take Jorginho’s penalties away. For strikers, this sometimes can increase their numbers dramatically – if you give them eight, nine, 10 penalties. “But then who would ...
