Chelsea set to replace two struggling first team players.
The Blues are set to replace two struggling first team stars.

Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper as Graham Potter and Todd Boehly work on rebuilding the Blues’ squad.

Despite having already spent over £253million in the summer, there are expected to be plenty more signings at Stamford Bridge as new manager Potter reshapes the team to his liking.

It has been reported that Chelsea have won the race to sign star forward Christopher Nkunku and are already working on a deal for his RB Leipzig teammate Josko Gvardiol.

And according to the Telegraph there may well be a new face in between the sticks as well, with the futures of both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga in doubt.

Mendy has reportedly rejected a new contract offer to extend his stay in west London beyond 2025 and there have been questions surrounding the 30-year-old’s recent form that includes high-profile errors in the games against Leeds and West Ham.

Meanwhile Kepa’s you are well-documented, having been labelled a huge flop after his £72m transfer from Athletic Bilbao, the most expensive fee for a goalkeeper ever, and he was linked with a move away during the summer.

While he has impressed in spells and has received praise from Potter while Mendy has been absent with injury, it remains unclear whether the Spaniard, who turned 28 on Monday, will re-establish himself as Chelsea’s No.1.

Between them, the pair have conceded 12 goals in nine games across all competitions, keeping just one clean sheet.

It is not known which goalkeeper Chelsea will target if they do indeed decide a new shot-stopper is required, though given how much has currently been spent by Boehly, several outcast players will need to be sold first.

Attacking players like Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Armando Broja, will surely be the first on the transfer list especially if the news surrounding Nkunku does prove to be accurate.

Graham Potter has succeeded in these three areas where Tuchel failed.

OPINION: Graham Potter has succeeded in these three areas where Tuchel failed.  The Blues were back in Premier League action on Saturday, and had sealed a 3-0 victory over Wolves at the Bridge.  The game had seen goals come from the Blues' attacking options, something which had rarely been seen in the Tuchel era.  Not just that, there were noticeable changes and improvement in team set up that were not seen under the former German Boss. All of which will be highlighted below.  Firstly, the handing of debut to Chelsea's signing, Carney Chukwuemeka. Graham Potter's choice to hand one of his starlets a debut demonstrates the trust that he has in the young players at Stamford Bridge that can help him through a tricky run. It's harder than it seems to just trust the youth though.  Tuchel struggled to fully implement the pathway desired and was always focused on the here and now, the short term. He felt warmth with experience. Potter already looks to have brough...
