OFFICIAL: Another Chelsea academy star extends contract under Todd Boehly.

Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club following recommendations from former Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel.

The midfielder, who turned 18 earlier this month, has signed a deal until 2025 after a promising start to his Blues career.

Hall has already made his first team debut and became the youngest player to start an FA Cup game for Chelsea at 17 years and 122 days. He went on to earn man-of-the-match honours in the game against Chesterfield United play as part of a back three despite more prominently featuring in the centre of midfield, and even as a wing-back until the Blues signed Dylan Williams last term.

It did not take Hall long to show his quality season featuring across age groups and becoming one of the more impressive players to earn playing time for the under-23s in 2021/22. The Slough-born star has already spent a decade with the Blues after transitioning through the club's development centre programme into the academy system.

Former boss Thomas Tuchel was happy with what Hall, who has trained with the first team on multiple occasions, offered in the FA Cup.

He said: "It was his performance in general and his attitude in training. The quality he showed was very calm and very good in our possession games and the little games he trained in. We never really trained with the full squad so it was more small-sided games but he was good.

"He deserved to start and we needed a pause for Toni (Rudiger), Azpi (Cesar Azpilicueta) and Marcos (Alonso) in defence and that's why. We had three defenders left and he was one of them. It was very clear what we demand from the players in the position and that helps them.

"It's a very supportive dressing room and there is a supportive attitude from all the more experienced players so this is very good for the young boys. In the end, they have to step up and show what they are capable of. They did again. They did against Brentford, the guys who played, and today they did their best to help us win this match.

"It's good. There is no need to talk it down artificially but there is no need to get super overwhelmed because we played against a fifth-division team and he is part of a strong squad. So put the things in relation to the demands and we can continue I think."

Lewis Hall.

Hall has already played nine times across Premier League 2, the UEFA Youth League, EFL Trophy and u18 Premier League this term and returned two goals and two assists in that time. His most recent strike earned the Blues a 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg.

Graham Potter has succeeded in these three areas where Tuchel failed.

OPINION: Graham Potter has succeeded in these three areas where Tuchel failed.  The Blues were back in Premier League action on Saturday, and had sealed a 3-0 victory over Wolves at the Bridge.  The game had seen goals come from the Blues' attacking options, something which had rarely been seen in the Tuchel era.  Not just that, there were noticeable changes and improvement in team set up that were not seen under the former German Boss. All of which will be highlighted below.  Firstly, the handing of debut to Chelsea's signing, Carney Chukwuemeka. Graham Potter's choice to hand one of his starlets a debut demonstrates the trust that he has in the young players at Stamford Bridge that can help him through a tricky run. It's harder than it seems to just trust the youth though.  Tuchel struggled to fully implement the pathway desired and was always focused on the here and now, the short term. He felt warmth with experience. Potter already looks to have brough...
