| Chelsea are reportedly interested in Fofana. |
As per multiple reports, Chelsea's £50m and £60m first and second bid have been rejected by Leicester City. According to the Telegraph, Chelsea will have to make the French centre-back the most expensive defender in the world at a fee over £80m to stand any chance of signing him, with Brendan Rodgers revealing his fears over finding a quality replacement. Leicester will only consider a record-breaking offer for Wesley Fofana, as Chelsea prepare to make a third bid.
Leicester City Boss, Brendan Rodgers have confirmed all of such reports of Chelsea's continued pursuit for Fofana. As per reliable media personality, Fabrizio Romano, the Leicester City Boss confirmed Chelsea proposed two offers for Wesley Fofana:
“There have been no new proposals for Wesley Fofana this week”, he told @OwynnPA. 🚨🔵 #LCFC
“There had been two from Chelsea, but neither came anywhere close to the valuation”, Rodgers added. #CFC
As per The Telegraph, when asked if Leicester City could consider any other bid for Fofana, the Leicester City boss was not confident on keeping the £80m rated star:
"That will be up to the ownership, the end decision will be down to them. Even now, it would be late in terms of looking to get in replacements, but it's certainly something that the later it goes on then the more difficult it becomes.
"At this moment in time we're looking at them being here, working with them, and that's the only focus." He added.
Chelsea are believed to be preparing a third offer for Wesley Fofana, for over £80m and can only secure his signature by making him a world-record signing.
£80m. Familiar figure. . .
Hopefully, Chelsea don't end up making the same mistakes as Manchester United's Harry Maguire deal.
Or what do you think, Blues? Should Chelsea sign Fofana or back off from the deal?
