Setting targets ahead of a new season is no new thing from Chelsea's Mason Mount. Before the start of the just concluded season, he had set a 10-goal target for himself and had ended up scoring a total of 13 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions and helped the Blues lift both the Super Cup and Club World Cup.
His superb performances resulted in him earning the club’s Player of the Season award for the second year running, confirming his place as one of, if not Thomas Tuchel’s most valuable player.
Speaking to the official Chelsea website, Mount said on his target for the incoming season:
“I set targets for what I want to achieve goals-wise, assists-wise, competitive-wise as a team.
“If I reach those targets then I know that my level is going to be high and I'm going to be performing.
"That's what I look at and when I sit down before a season and try to set my targets, I want to achieve more. That's always been my goal and my focus before a season.”
For now, the focus is on pre-season, getting ready and in the best possible shape for the opener against Everton on 6 August.

Mount, of course has been working hard in anticipation for both pre-season and the new season to comd, and it would of course, be no surprise, if he hits the ground and continues from where he stopped last season!
